Residential Programs

Our current brochure.

Presbyterian Children's Village has embraced the Sanctuary Model of Trauma Informed Care as an effective framework for implementing its mission to promote the healing of the spirits of children and families broken by violence, neglect, addiction, poverty, mental illness, racism and other serious societal problems. The Residential Treatment Program serves adolescent boys and girls 13 to 18 years old with serious mental health and behavioral issues. Core components of our 60-bed state-licensed, JCAHO-accredited Residential Treatment Facility at our Rosemont Campus include:

  • Clinical Treatment Services consist of master's level therapists who provide weekly individual, family and group therapy as well as comprehensive case management.
  • Use of the Sanctuary model for trauma-informed treatment helps staff and residents to become more aware of the impact of traumatic experiences and teaches ways to heal.
  • A Pennsylvania Department of Education licensed, private academic special education school for students with emotional, social, and special learning needs meets the individual academic needs of the students.
  • A Cottage Life Program with 24-hour supervision of residents provides a Therapeutic Activities Program (TAP) of structured activities for after-school hours and weekends both on-campus and in the local community.
  • Pastoral Care Services provide voluntary religious counseling, values groups, and worship services sensitive to, and supportive of, all religious affiliations.
  • Psychiatry Services provide diagnostic evaluations and medication management.

The Semi-Independent Living Program (SIL) provides a transitional living experience for older adolescents preparing for independence, particularly those who have been in foster care or a residential treatment program. The program is funded by county agencies such as DHS and consists of:

  • Apartment living in a supervised context for participants who are either in an educational program or are employed
  • Life skills education, counseling, and social work services
