Heart
Felt Gifts
Students from the three elementary
schools in the Radnor School District created Be
Mine pillows as Valentine gifts for children in
our residential and community-based programs and
as part of their Martin Luther King Jr. Day of
Service. Seated behind these children from Ithan
Elementary are PCV staff members Shelley Crittle
and Betty Wu.

Makeover
for Residential
Cottages
Bright
yellow hallways, lilac trim, and chalkboard
green erasable graffiti spaces:
these are all part of the fresh look underway in
the cottages for teens on the Rosemont
campus. Residents made their choices from
a pre-selected palette and are enthusiastic
about taking the makeover a few steps
further. Residents will help with
creating window treatments, selecting posters,
and refinishing their work tables with a
colorful collage.

Precious
Moments
The fundraising event around the movie
"Precious" was a resounding success, nearly
filling the Bryn Mawr Film Institute and raising
about $9,000 for the Village. Many attendees
commented on their broadened understanding of
the traumas experienced by many Village clients,
portrayed so well through the story of
Precious. Guests for the
movie and reception included (left to right)
Suchinda Heavener, Margaret Scholl, and
Elizabeth
Donohoe. |

New
Art Projects
Youth in the residential program learned
about an exciting new art program made possible
through a generous grant from the Victory
Foundation. Several groups of
youth will take classes at the Main Line Art
Center (MLAC) through the spring, with their
work on display at MLAC in May.
Other youth will participate in arts
projects on the Rosemont campus, with their work
going on display for donor appreciation events
in May. This presentation about the MLAC
opportunity took place in the new meeting room
made possible by a gift from Dr. Frederick and
Helen Sutliff. The room
provides a much-needed space in which to meet
with families whose children are in the
residential program. The
technology installed will make video
conferencing an option for family meetings and
will facilitate meetings between our Rosemont
and Southwest Philadelphia
campuses. |

We can always use:
- Sewing supplies (notions and fabric) and
yarn
- Art supplies, including frames (with or
without glass)
- Infant supplies: diapers, wipes, simple
clothing, Pack-n-Play
- Plants: think of PCV when you are
thinning out your perennials and
bulbs. Our new gardening
group has fantastic ideas for beautifying both
sites -- Rosemont and the Preheim
Center. Let us know what you
have! Email efwu@pcv.org.
- Microwave ovens
- Passes to area museums, attractions,
cultural events and sporting
events
